When I was in my mid-20 s, I went to work for an ad agency and learned an important truth: “Money ain’t funny.” It was something my boss always used to say as a way to remind us not to make errors on billing and to treat our client’s budget with the utmost respect.

Nice! I have family in that Financial Peace class. They love it. I would argue that restricting your spending can inspire creativity. Having no money will lead to other issues, so all basic needs must first met. I like the shift to cash only. My husband and I made the switch in 2007 and have not had to go back. Our annual combined income is less than $30k/yr.
