If this summer ball does NOT belong to the city or to the schools, is it a business? Do they have to have a city licenses to operate within the city??
Is it legal for the city to fund a private enterprise with tax payer money?? Are the officers of the summer ball compensated in any way for their services and if so , by whom??
I feel that the folks who would NOT support a new TAX just didnt want the hassel of a public fight. Also MIC's have a way of scaring folks away. They will get their say at the voting polls. I for one will campaign for NO NEW TAXES. I am 76years old and tired of government (even city government) thinking that the only way to accomplish something is to raise the taxes. That's a no brainer...YEA! and Hooray for the few who did speak out against new taxes... The CC says 'Whats one more cent'. "That doesnt amount to a lot of money" But you start adding all those 'cents' up and it DOES amount to a lot of money for some folks.
