When it comes to immigrants from failed backward Mexico, instead of continuing to treat it as a separate country, and its people as "aliens", why not try a new paradigm of working to incorporate Mexico into the U.S. under the U.S. Constitution, allowing it to finally be developed as a U.S. sector, alleviating the root causes of poverty, injustice and crime? @tlwinslow, I like your direction of thought, I'm curious about that proposal. We've got so much ignorance, greed and xenophobia on our hands it's not even funny. I'll blame it on media and lack of education.
Immigration needs some serious, intelligent conversation. I just heard Dr. Tassu Shervani speak. He was brought here by the AT&T and Tyson. He's an economics guru and says that unless the US birthrate goes up, which is unlikely as more women get more education, we have no choice but to allow immigrants full working visas so we can have a workforce. I hope the Fayetteville Chamber will bring him back. I have lots of questions myself. I don't have any answers for it, but this made a lot of sense.
