Robert L. Jones III of Conner and Winters LLP in Fayetteville received the Outstanding Lawyeraward from the association and Arkansas Bar Foundation. He received the award in recognition of his law practice and contributions to the profession. Hehas practiced in the area of general, civil litigation for approximately 40 years and has tried more than 300 jury trials in Arkansas and around the country. He is an internationally known author and speaker.

He served as president of the Sebastian County Bar Association, Arkansas Bar Foundation, Arkansas Bar Association and Arkansas Association of Defense Counsel.

Jones has been elected by his peers as a Fellow of the American Collegeof Trial Lawyers, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, and Litigation Counsel of America.

Sean T. Keith of Rogers was appointed chairman of the Arkansas Bar Association’s Boardof Governors during the association’s annual meeting June 12, while three other local lawyers were honored for their service.

Keith completed his undergraduatedegree at Westminster College in Fulton, Mo., and received his law degree from the University of Arkansas. He began his career as a prosecuting attorney in Logan County and started his own firm, Keith and Miller P.A. with Drew Miller, in March 1995. The firm now has 11 lawyers and Keith’s focus is on areas of personalinjury, class action and business litigation.

Lamar Pettus of the Pettus Law Firm in Fayetteville received the Gold Gavel Award. The award wasgiven for his work and service to the association as chair of the Governance Committee. Pettus is a past president of the association and has served the association in numerous leadership capacities.

Charles L. Harwell, a partner at Cypert, Crouch, Clark and Harwell PLLC in Springdale, received the Charles L.

Carpenter Award. The awardwas given for his service to the association. The law firm was established in 1947.

Dwight D. Duckworth, DDS, of Springdale earned the 2010 Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition from the Academy of General Dentistry. The professional association has more than 35,000 general dentist members and Duckworth was honored for his commitment to lifelong learning, volunteering his services to communities in need, mentoring associates and new dentists, and participating in organized dentistry.

Duckworth completed as least 1,600 hours of continuing dental education in 16 different dental disciplines and completed more than 250 hours of dental-related community and volunteer service.

He graduated from the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry.

Levi Crandell, a PAM technician,recently won the trailer written test, the trailer hands-on electrical and the bands-on brakes competitions at the Arkansas Trucking Association Maintenance and Technology Council’s seventh annual Technician Championship. The Grand Champion is decided by total cumulative points, and Crandell won that honor for trailers.

Truck technicians were tested on brakes, diesel engines, electrical and electronics, HVAC, preventative maintenance, service information, steering and suspension, tires, work orders, and safety and environmental. Trailer technicians were tested in brakes, electrical, preventative maintenance, and suspensions. Both truck and trailer technicians completed written tests as well the hands-on skills tests. A total of 33 truck technicians and 10 trailer technicians participated.
