• ———GARFIELD — Sandra Sue (Martin) Kelley, 67, of Garfield, Ark., passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2010, at Overland Park Regional Hospital.

A memorial service is scheduled for noon Saturday, June 19, 2010, at the Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home. A private inurnment will take place at a later date. Visitation will be 11 a.m.-noon Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Lung Association. Sandra was born on Aug. 4, 1942, in Kansas City, Kan., to Lyle Richard and Thelma Rita (Dotson) Martin.

She graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1960. Her and her husband Gerald built, owned and operated Kelley’s Grill and Bar in Basehor, Kan., until 1996. After they retired, they moved to Beaver Lake in Garfield, Ark. Sandra was an active member of the Basehor Booster Club, 4-H Club and the PTA. She also frequently volunteered as a room mother at school and at church. She was a member of the KQHA where she rode and showed horses in both English and Western pleasure events. Sandra enjoyed league bowling and absolutely loved cooking and baking for her family, friends and church functions. She was an active member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Bentonville, Ark.

Sandra is preceded in death by her parents, Lyle R. and Thelma R. Martin of Roeland Park, Kan. Survivors include her devoted husband, Gerald W. Kelley of Garfield, Ark; son, Mark Sanchez and his wife Connie of Lansing, Kan.; daughter, Gina Sanchez of Mountain Home, Ark; and one sister, Sharon Forbach and her husband Larry of Olathe, Kan. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her four grandchildren, Kayla, Neal, Tanner and Austin.

• ———SHREVEPORT — Reba Akin Little, formerly of Pine Bluff, Ark., widow of William Lewis Little, was born March 24, 1917, at Floyd, Ark., (White County), and died in Shreveport, La., on June 17, 2010. Reba was the daughter of the late James Albert Akin and Margaret Elizabeth Barnett Akin. She obtained her early education at Floyd and Beebe high schools. She later attended Harding College at Searcy and Draughons Business College Little Rock, Ark.

In her senior years, she attended the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Ark., where she resumed her studies in piano and music for two years. She enjoyed playing and taping for herself. She worked as a legal secretary in Little Rock where she met and married “Bill” Little, an accountant, March 15, 1941. He joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a Special Agent in 1942. They lived in Indianapolis, Ind., Chicago, Ill., Independence, Kan., and Little Rock while he worked in that capacity. They lived in Hot Springs, Ark., from 1951 to 1958 where her husband was vice president of Hot Springs Bank and Trust. While living there she was very active in the P.T.A. and Girl Scouts of Hot Springs and Garland County.

They moved to Pine Bluff in 1958 where her husband joined National Bank of Commerce, now Bank of America, as vice president and trust officer. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Pine Bluff, Ark., and its Danho Sunday School Class where she served as president of her class.

In addition to her husband who died in 1992, Reba was preceded in death by her daughter, Julia Little Richie. Survivors include her daughter, Sarah Little Hightower, and her husband, Thomas B. Hightower, of Fort Worth, Texas; her son-in-law, Dr. John N. Richie, of Shreveport, La.; her granddaughters, Jennifer Richie, of Dallas, Texas, and Laura Richie Clabough, and her husband, Rick Clabough, of Knoxville, Tenn.; her grandsons Jefferson Lewis Hightower, and his wife, Jennifer, of Rogers, Ark.; John Richie and Luke Richie, of New Orleans, La.; and Kevin B. Hightower of Fayetteville, Ark.; and two great-granddaughters and four great-grandsons; sister-inlaw, Irma Boyer, of Fayetteville Ark., and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express appreciation and thanks to those who provided comfort and care to Reba at the end of her life, Dr. Alan Borne, and caregivers Willa Scroggins, Katherine Ball, Clara Prince, Marie Buckingham, and Mary Mims all of Shreveport, La.

Funeral will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday, June 20, 2010, in the chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Home in Pine Bluff, Ark., with Rev. David Fleming officiating. Visitation will be 2:30-3:30 at the funeral home. Burial will be Monday, 10 a.m. in Graceland Cemetery.
