Investigation Under Way After County Jailer Poses Nude On Web Site

Photos Of 21-Year-Old Detention Officer Appear On Playboy.com

— A Washington County Jailer, who recently told Playboy.com she hopes to become an undercover officer, is now going uncovered on the company’s Web site as its June 7 Cybergirl of the Week.

Playboy.com describes 21-year-old Jessie Lunderby as a “detention officer for a county sheriff’s department which has her well on… her way to realizing her ambition to be an undercover cop or work for the drug task force.” The site also lists Lunderby’s hometown as Fayetteville.

According to Maj. Rick Hoyt of the Sheriff’s Office, Lunderby is the subject of an internal investigation to determine if she violated departmental policy by posing for the Web site. Hoyt said the policies being investigated include, “conduct unbecoming of an officer or employee of the department,” along with “failure to get permission to work at an off-duty job.” If the investigation determines Lunderby violated either policy, she could face disciplinary action, he said, which could include a verbal reprimand, suspension or termination.

“I won’t say what’s being contemplated because that hasn’t been discussed,” he said. “If you’re going to work off-duty jobs and receive compensation, we have a written process where you describe the kind of job it is and request permission. We also have a policy that says you can’t work at some types of jobs and one of those has to do with sexual conduct.

“If you work here and you want to apply to be a pole dancer at a gentlemen’s club, that request would be denied. The same thing goes for jobs at liquor stores, bail bonding companies and any other job that’s a conflict of interest.”

Lunderby, who began working for the Sheriff’s Office in 2007, was still employed by the department Thursday evening.

According to her Facebook page, she’ll be featured in an interview on Playboy Radio today.

Online messages sent to Lunderby via Facebook hadn’t been returned as of Thursday night.

Hoyt said he couldn’t remember another instance involving an employee at the department posing nude for compensation.

“She made no request to work an outside job and received compensation from Playboy,” he said. “We’ve been aware that she’s had a modeling job for some time. Everything we’d heard about it had to do with implied nudity, which means she wasn’t completely nude. We weren’t aware of any compensation.”

Hoyt said he learned of Lunderby’s photos June 8. He assigned an investigator to conduct an internal review the following Monday. The findings of the investigation will likely be released sometime next week, he said.

“Right now, we’re just trying to put the case together and outline the information,” he said. “We’ve collected the photos from the site and other sites so we’ll have evidence for anything that might happen. Our staff will meet and discuss the findings after the investigation.”
