Loretta Katherine Ponder

SPRINGDALE — Loretta Katherine Ponder, 73, of Springdale, died Monday, July 26, 2010, at her home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. today at Living Faith Church in Fayetteville, with Dr. Buell Curtis officiating. Private burial will be at Combs Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Beards Chapel.

The family will receive friends at Living Faith Church on Friday from noon till service time.

Oscar Dale Williams

HUNTSVILLE — Oscar Dale Williams, 79, of Huntsville died July 28, 2010, at the Washington Regional Medical Center Hospice in Fayetteville.

He was born July 19, 1931, in Dutton, to Oscar and Georgia Seals Williams. He worked in canning factories in Arkansas before moving to Wichita, Kan., where he was employed by Boeing Aircraft for 38 years.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita Griffith Williams; one son, Gary Williams and wife, Donna Lynn, of Bella Vista; two daughters, Rhonda Peck and husband, Gregory, of Efland, N.C., and Donna Dalene Messer and husband, William Brett, of Mulvane, Kan.; two brothers, including Stephen Randall Williams of Combs; six sisters, including Rowena Smith of Pettigrew, Joann Bennett of Boston, Ark., Sharon Haught of Witter and Jackie Williams of Lowell; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Brashears Funeral Home in Huntsville.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Williams-Liberty Cemetery.

Ellen Moore

LOWELL — Ellen Moore, 70, of Lowell, Ark., passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.

Ellen was born in Exline, Iowa, to Paul and Violet (Henderson) Campbell on March 21, 1940. She received her education from Cincinnati Schools in 1959. Ellen married Tom Moore on Dec. 25, 1965. She was a homemaker and a member of the Springdale First Baptist Church in Springdale, Ark. She organized parties for her Sunday school class, Kindred Hearts. She worked in the outreach ministry program and helped raise money for the Center Corner School House in Lowell. Ellen enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, serving the Lord and time spent with her family.

Ellen is survived by her husband, Tom Moore; six children, Bryan Moore, Tom Moore, Tim Moore, Pamela Hutchison (Wyman), Sam Moore and Kimball Moore; 11 grandchildren, Thomas, Chris, Ryan, Christina, Meagan, Keri, Tawny, Wyman Dale, Ashley, Rachel and Dustin; many great-grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters, Pauline Taylor, Rose Walker, Donna Walker (Gary), Mary Ann Hurley, Paul Campbell (Debbie), Dan Campbell (Tracy) and Rex Campbell (Denise).

She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Samantha Moore; parents; two brothers, Franklin and John Campbell.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 2010, at the Exline Church of Christ. Visitation will be all day today at Thomas Funeral Home with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Exline Cemetery.

Dorothy Lee Rogers

SPRINGDALE — Dorothy Lee (Smith) Rogers of Springdale, Ark., formerly of Grubbs, Ark., departed this life on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Circle of Life Hospice, Springdale, Ark. She was born on Sept. 14, 1930, at Pond Switch, Ark., to Cecil Elmo and Madge Pearl Smith.

Dorothy married Jimmy D. Rogers 61 years ago and became a military wife for a few years. When her husband left the Army and they moved back home to Grubbs, she became a farmer’s wife. She kept the books for the farm and she helped during both planting and harvest time. She worked for the postal service for 10 years and, together with husband, was treasurer for the First Baptist Church of Grubbs for 30 years. Dorothy loved working in her flowerbeds and garden, reading her Bible, teaching Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. They moved to Springdale in 2004 to be close to their family.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Douglas Rogers; her parents; three sisters, Betty Jo Smith, Armelda Stover and Sara Gentry; and two brothers, James Leon and Elmo “Sonny” Smith.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, Jimmy D. Rogers of Springdale; one daughter, DeAnn Proffitt and husband, Mark, of Springdale; one grandson Jeremy Proffitt, of Clermont, Fla.; two granddaughters, Charissa Napier and husband, Timmy, of Prairie Grove, Ark., and Tamyra Proffitt of Springdale; and four great-grandchildren, Aspen, Khloe, Quinton, and Cash Napier of Prairie Grove, Ark.

Visitation will be held in Springdale at Westfield Chapel, 3236 West Huntsville Ave., today, July 30, 2010, from 4 to 7 p.m.

Visitation will also be held in Newport at Jackson’s Funeral Home on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010, from 2 to 5 p.m.

Funeral services will be Monday, Aug. 2, 2010, at 1 p.m. at the Grubbs First Baptist Church, with burial at Ballews Chapel Cemetery in Grubbs.

Morgan Lee Hamilton

TONTITOWN — On Tuesday, July 27, 2010, Morgan Lee Hamilton of Tontitown, Ark., went to be with the Lord. She was born April 15, 1994, in Fayetteville, the daughter of Jeff and Kristi Hamilton. Morgan was a member of Christian Life Cathedral, where she was a devoted volunteer in the children’s ministry. She attended Har-Ber High School in Springdale and dreamed of being an English teacher. Morgan will be remembered best by her beautiful smile, her laughter that filled the room and her contagious personality. Morgan touched the lives of everyone that she met. Her life was full of aspirations and filled with high expectations. She wasn’t afraid to dream and chase after those dreams. She lived her life to the fullest.

She is survived by her parents, Jeff and Kristi Hamilton of Tontitown; one sister, Lauren Hamilton of the home; and one brother, Connor Hamilton of the home; her maternal grandparents, J.D. and Shirley Bixler of Tontitown; and paternal grandparents, Harry and Donna Hamilton of Springdale; aunt and uncle, Duane and Mary Hamm of Tustin, Calif.; aunt and uncle, Alicia and Aaron Adams of Tontitown; aunt and uncle, Cindy and Mike Lyman of Fayetteville; and aunt and uncle, Sheri and Chris May of Springdale.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Christian Life Cathedral in Fayetteville, Ark., with Pastor Tony Harrison officiating. Burial will be in the Elm Springs Cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at Beard’s Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville.

Charles Augustus Moorman

LINCOLN — Charles Augustus Moorman, 82, died July 27, 2010, at his home in Lincoln.

He was born Oct. 12, 1927, in Spartanburg, S.C., to Walter Ervin and Susanna Madura Galbraith Moorman.

He retired from the U.S. Navy.

Survivors: two brothers, including Roy Moorman and his wife, Diane, of Lincoln.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove. Burial will be in the Weddington Cemetery in Wedington.
