Original Apprentice to speak at expo
Bill Rancic, the first winner of the Donald Trump show The Apprentice, will speak at the second Northwest Arkansas Business Conference and Expo, set for Thursday at the John Q. Hammons Center in Rogers.
Rancic is a real estate developer and entrepreneur in Chicago. He is the author of Beyond the Lemonade Stand.
Rancic will discuss entrepreneurship, high-stakes pressure, marketing and adapting to change.
Northwest Arkansas resident Mike Thompson also will speak at the conference. He’ll share tips from his book The Organizational Champion.
Other sessions planned include Marketing or Technology, Collection Strategies for Improving Your Company’s Bottom Line, Show Me the Money: Investors and Venture Capital, Five Business Strategies for Social Media and Managing Company Culture and Leadership.

Fort Smith hosts mule, donkey show
The Fort Smith Mule and Donkey Show and Festival will be Aug. 6-8 at Kay Rodgers Park’s Harper Stadium in Fort Smith. The event will include mule, donkey and draft horse shows along with arts and crafts, music and tack and food vendors.
Awards and prizes will be given for halter, western pleasure, driving, hitch, gaited and Gymkhana competitions. A draft horse and mule pulling contest and a jumping competition are also planned.
Tickets are $6 per day or $15 for a three-day pass. More information is available by calling Sherri Pledger at (918) 678-2088.
