OKLAHOMA CITY — The man killed when his car was hit by an Oklahoma City police car has been identified as 49-year-old Raul Becerra of Oklahoma City.
The names of Becerra and the officer — John Paul — were released Friday.
Sgt. Gary Knight said Paul was eastbound about 5:30 a.m. Thursday in southwest Oklahoma City when he crashed into the driver's side of Becerra's northbound car. Becerra was dead at the scene. Paul was not injured.
Knight said Paul was responding to a larceny call and that his emergency lights and siren were not on at the time.
Knight said the case is still under investigation and that Paul remains on full duty.
