BELLA VISTA — Be the Match will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Bella Vista Baptist Church, 50 E. Lancashire Blvd.
Volunteers will register possible bone marrow donors and take DNA swabs. The information will be sent to a national registry, and if there is a match, donors will be contacted.
Donors must be between ages 18 and 60 with no medical problems.
The majority of donations do not involve surgery. Most doctors request a peripheral blood stem cell donation which is nonsurgical. Another way to donate involves a surgical procedure, a news release stated.
