Rogers Man Gets Eight Years For Sexual Assault

— A Rogers man was sentenced to eight years in prison Monday after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a teenage girl.

Timothy McDougal, 64, pleaded guilty to sexual assault in the second degree, a Class B felony punishable with a prison sentence ranging from five to 20 years. His plea came under an agreement Public Defender Tony Pirani reached with Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Bonnie Bridges.

McDougal was arrested in November 2009 after a 14-year-old girl reported she was touched inappropriately by McDougal.

Circuit Judge David Clinger accepted the plea agreement and McDougal’s guilty plea.

McDougal was sentenced to eight years in the Arkansas Department of Correction. He must abide by a suspended-sentence agreement for 12 years after his release.

He also must register as a sex offender, enroll and complete the sex offender treatment program at Ozark Guidance in Springdale and pay $1,970 in court costs.
