Beeks, Offenbacker Help Fayetteville Stay Alive

— Jalen Beeks threw one-hit ball over six innings and Kyler Offenbacker went 3-for-4 with a solo homer to lead the Fayetteville Lindsey Dodgers to a 13-3 runrule win over Mountain Home in the American Legion Senior State Tournament on Sunday.

Fayetteville (30-9) bounced back Sunday after losing 5-4 to Cabot Centennial Bank on Saturday in the double-elimination tournament.

Beeks improved to 7-1, but faltered in the seventh. Tyler Fourkiller came on to get the final out in the seventh and close out the run-rule win.

“Jalen threw a great game and we wanted to give him a chance to finish it,” Fayetteville Lindsey coach Ashley Patrick said.

The Dodgers will play at either 5 or 8 p.m. today against an undetermined opponent.

Offenbacker drove in three runs in the game, but his solo homer kick-started a five-run second inning for Fayetteville. The Dodgers scored in each of the first five innings to take a 10-0 lead and cruised to the win in a rematch of the Zone 1 championship game.

Fourkiller also went 3-for-4 and drove in two runs, while Jake Barton, Matt Stelte and Cole Faulconer had two hits each for the Dodgers. Faulconer also drove in two.
