Street Department Part Of Council Discussion

— A proposed resolution before the Bella Vista City Council tonight would suspend plans to acquire new property and equipment for a street department.

Mayor Frank Anderson would enter negotiations with the Bella Vista Property Owners Association General Manager Tommy Bailey if the resolution passes.

A transfer of property, equipment and buildings from the POA to the city will be discussed. The resolution states all options to minimize cost to the taxpayers will be explored.

The City Council had approved a resolution to begin acquiring new property in 2011 for a street department to begin operations by July 2012.

The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Highlands Crossing.
