— Springdale-based Arkansas and Missouri Railroad recently promoted several workers.

Jim Seratt was promoted to general manager, marketing and transload services. Formerly general superintendent, Seratt will guide marketing efforts, industrial development opportunities and customer service initiatives.

Mark Bonnell is the new director of transload sales and will work to expand transport of loads that travel by rail and trucking.

Randy Campbell was promoted to superintendent of railroad operations, where he assumes overall responsibility for daily train operations. He is the former manager of the Fort Smith terminal.

Michael Estep was promoted to Fort Smith’sterminal manager for the privately held provider of rail freight, transloading, warehousing, industrial development and passenger excursion services in Northwest Arkansas and Southwest Missouri.

Larry Rouse, a longtime railroad employee, was named track superintendent, responsible for maintenance of company tracks, bridges and other infrastructure.

Philip Talbert, owner of Spring-Green Lawn Care in Fayetteville, received an Outstanding Revenue Growth Award as one of three top franchises in the company’s revenue category showing. The Fayetteville franchise showed one of the highest percentage increases over the previous year among more than 100Spring-Green territories. Talbert was also recognized for his 20 years in business during the company’s regional meeting in Indianapolis during June.

Bill Haak, a dairy farmer in Gentry, was selected as the 2010 Arkansas winner of the Swisher Sweets/Sunbelt Expo Southeastern Farmer of the Year award. Haak joins nine other state winners from the Southeast as finalists for the award. The overall winner will be announced Oct. 19 during the Sunbelt Ag Expo farm show in Moultrie, Ga.

As Arkansas state winner, Haak will receive $2,500 and an expense-paid trip to the Sunbelt Expo from Swisher International of Jacksonville, Fla., a jacket and a $200 gift certificate from the Williamson-Dickie Company, and a $500 gift certificate fromSouthern States.

The overall winner will get $15,000, the use of a Massey Ferguson tractor for a year and a custom made Canvasback gun safe from Misty Morn Safe Co.
