Northwest Arkansas Shopping - Malls, Centers and More!

Over the past 10 years, Northwest Arkansas has seen a surge in shopping venues for residents and visitors. The area’s three major malls feature an assortment of stores that rival those in larger metropolitan areas.

From newly developed outdoor shopping centers to sprawling indoor, air-conditioned facilities, Northwest Arkansas has it all.

Pinnacle Hills Promenade in Rogers is the latest addition and boasts an open-air environment that allows shoppers to enjoy nature while they shop.

Wide sidewalks and pedestrian-friendly traffic flow allows guests to shop at stores like Sephora, Charlotte Russe or Williams-Sonoma. Guests can also dine at P.F. Chang’s, Texas Land & Cattle or Mimi’s Cafe, while kids can have fun at Build-A-Bear Workshop or Gymboree. Target, Best Buy and a T.J. Maxx also have locations there.

Guests can stroll around outdoors in pleasant conditions or park near the door of their favorite store during inclement weather.

“Visitors are surprised that there’s a mall of this caliber in Northwest Arkansas,” said Brenda Majors, the center’s marketing director. “They don’t anticipate having such a wonderful venue in the area.”

Part of the Promenade’s draw is the willingness of its management to become involved in the community, Majors said. Each year, the mall hosts the Pinnacle Hills Arts Festival and Living Green Expo, the Kendrick Fincher Youth Run and the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

“We want people to look at the Pinnacle Hills Promenade as a community center,” she said.

Northwest Arkansas Mall in Fayetteville offers indoor shopping and is home to the Arkansas Music Pavilion, which annually hosts concerts for Bikes, Blues and Hot Rods Too, Bikes Blues & BBQ and the Walton Arts Center’s Artosphere festival. Levon Helm, the Indigo Girls and Ted Nugent all have performed at the AMP recently.

The mall is home to stores including Maurices, Pacific Sunwear and Talbots, along with restaurants ranging from Mimi’s Pretzels and Snobiz to Boars Nest BBQ.

Diane C. Scott, marketing director for the mall, said its popularity is a result of unique stores, indoor atmosphere and location.

“We are the only regional enclosed shopping center in Northwest Arkansas,” Scott says. “We are in the heart of the Fayetteville business district and the anchor to the uptown Fayetteville area.”

That uptown area includes a Wal-Mart Supercenter, a series of shopping centers that house everything from Kirkland’s to Old Navy, a Target and restaurants including Olive Garden and Logan’s Roadhouse.

The third major mall in Northwest Arkansas is the Scottsdale Center in Rogers. Located just off of Interstate 540 at exit 85, the outdoor mall includes stores like Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Belk and Pier 1 Imports.

The mall is flanked by a Lowe’s store and a Staples office supply location. Restaurants include Applebee’s, Chili’s, Abuelo’s and Carino’s Italian.

Scottsdale Center offers easy access to Interstate 540, with downtown Rogers and Bentonville both only moments away. The Pinnacle Hills Promenade is a couple of miles to the south.

Frisco Station Mall, also in Rogers, is on Walnut Street between Interstate 540 and downtown. Shops include Tuesday Morning, Hobby Lobby, and Bath and Body Works, and the mall is the site of a bi-annual arts and crafts fair that draws thousands of visitors.

Also in Rogers is the Shoppes at Pinnacle Hills — an upscale, outdoor boutique shopping center that houses local stores and some unique restaurants. The Shoppes are home to local businesses including I.O. Metro, Blakeman’s Fine Jewelry and 3 Monkeys Children’s Boutique. Restaurants include Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Eddie Haskell’s Patio Grill and Bonefish Grill.

Rainbow Curve in Bentonville is a unique place to shop, eat and enjoy some pampering. Located on Walton Boulevard between Interstate 540 and 14th Street, the center offers The Spa Esthetiques, Urban Image Salon and The Edge Studio for Hair and Nails. Home stores occupy most of the retail space along the curve, including I.O. Metro, Cloud 9 Mattress Outlet and Floors to Go. Eateries include World Garden, Whole Hog Cafe, Doe’s Eat Place and Gusano’s Pizzeria.

If local shops are your thing, they are plentiful in the downtown portions of Bentonville, Fayetteville and Rogers. The downtown Bentonville square includes Overstreet’s Jewelry, Bloom Flowers and Gifts and numerous art galleries and salons. Visitors also can stop by Walton’s 5-10, the original store in the Wal-Mart chain, or Crystal Bridges at the Massey.

Downtown Fayetteville offers a variety of shops including Underwood’s Jewelry and Condom Sense on the city’s famed Dickson Street and the Fayetteville Farmers Market, which features a variety of arts, crafts and plants. Clothiers include Houndstooth Clothing Co. and Town and Country Shop.

Downtown Rogers features a series of arts and crafts-themed stores including Poor Richard’s Art Gallery and The Rabbit’s Lair, as well as White’s Jewelry and Estates and Oftedahl’s Photography.
