Suspected Home Invasion Turns Out to Be False Alarm

— Police said a suspected home invasion Thursday on Deane Street turned out to be a false alarm.

Police responded to 1501 W. Deane St. at 6:20 a.m. after a man reported being held at gunpoint by several men in his home.

Investigators later learned that the man was sedated after taking pain pills, sleeping pills and consuming alcohol.

“No crime occurred,” said Fayetteville Police Sgt. Tim Franklin. “He did shoot his gun into the wall, but that’s about it.”
