FAYETTEVILLE — The Boston Mountain Solid Waste District will host a free prescription drug drop-off today conducted by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
The one-day event begins at 8 a.m. and ends at noon.
Proper disposal of old prescription drugs keeps the area’s water supply clean and free of chemical contaminants, according to a Boston Mountain Solid Waste District news release. The free drop-off program also keeps pills, tablets and liquids away from those who might abuse them.
The Boston Mountain Solid Waste District, 11398 Bond Road, is between Prairie Grove and Lincoln.
Free fly swatters made from recycled plastic and a jar opener made from recycled tires will be distributed to those who attend today’s event.
