BENTONVILLE — Wal-Mart Stores Inc. said its Sam's Club warehouse stores will conduct a weekend open house for nonmembers, but without charging its usual 10 percent fee.
The company said Thursday that the open house is set for the weekend of Aug. 6 through Aug. 9.
Ordinarily, non-members are assessed a 10 percent upcharge on their purchases during the company's infrequent promotional weekends. But the fee will be waived this time.
The company said it hopes to draw back-to-school shoppers looking for items ranging from clothing to electronics. The company said it also hopes to draw in small business owners.
