Clifford To Run For NWACC Board Seat

CANDIDATE HAS MORE THAN 25 YEARS OF MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE

— Richard “Ric” Clifford of Rogers will run unopposed for Position 6 on the NorthWest Arkansas Community College Board.

The election will be held Sept. 21. Position 6 is held by Linda Bisbee, who was appointed and is not running for the position.

Clifford has more than 25 years of management experience that is focused on business and organization development.

“The opportunity to translate my experience gained in the private sector to the continued success of NWACC is exciting,” Clifford said.

Clifford is also involved with Students in Free Enterprise at the community college and the Northwest Arkansas Children’s Shelter.

“Ric is very supportive of the students,” Becky Hudson, the college’s Students in Free Enterprise advisor, said. “He doesn’t want to be an adviser who is just there for the name. He really wants to be involved with the students and see them succeed.”

Clifford is a board member on the Rogers/Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce.

“He has been an asset not only to the organization, but the community,” said Raymond Burns, president and CEO of the chamber. “He looks beyond just the issue and looks at how it will impact the people. I think the NWACC board would be very fortunate to have someone like him.”

Positions 4 and 5 also are up for election in September. Position 4 is now held by Hadley Hindmarsh, who was appointed to the position earlier this year, but filed too late to seek election to the seat. Randy Lawson is running unopposed for Position 5, which is now held by Coleman Peterson, who is not seeking re-election.
