2 Arkansas properties added to list of historic places

— Arkansas preservation officials said two Arkansas properties are being added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Arkansas Historic Preservation Program Director Frances McSwain said Wednesday that Antioch Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery at Sherrill in Jefferson County and West Memphis City Hall are joining the list.

The cemetery is an African-American cemetery with burials dating to 1885. West Memphis City Hall was built in 1938 by the Depression-era Public Works Administration.

The register is the country's official list of historically significant properties.
