EARLY-MORNING FIELD PREPARATION HELPS AVOID DELAY IN GAMES

Angel Castellanos reels in a guide line Tuesday while working with fellow Bentonville Parks and Recreation Department grounds crew members to line and prepare field No. 5 for the USSSA 13 and 14 AA World Series at Phillips Park in Bentonville. The grounds crew began working at 6 a.m. to get the water-logged fields ready for Tuesday’s games.
A storm like the one that rolled through Monday night would usually wipe out a day of baseball at Phillips Park.
