Conquistadors Take Elite Championship

If nothing else, the Olive Branch Conquistadors will enter the 2010 season knowing how to play from behind.

Olive Branch (Miss.) scored on the next-to-last play of the Southwest Elite 7-on-7 Showcase at Shiloh Christian on Saturday afternoon, defeating Oklahoma City Heritage Hall, 28-23. Courtney Gladney hauled in his second touchdown pass of the game from quarterback Todd Mays in the final minute, and the Chargers’ desperation pass on the game’s last play fell short.

Olive Branch went 4-1-1 in pool play, then rallied in the final minute of its semifinal game against Shiloh Christian to earn a berth in the finals.
