Bentonville Woman Still Missing

— Briana Beazley hasn’t heard from her mother in almost a week.

Cheryl Kanning, 51, of Bentonville was reported missing Tuesday by family. She left her home Sunday and hasn’t been seen or heard from since, according to the Bentonville Police Department.

Beazley, who lives in Springdale, said the last time she spoke to her mother was Sunday. Beazley said her mother was upset. Kanning was supposed to call her back, but didn’t.

It was Beazley’s last contact with her mother.

“We really don’t have any idea where she is,” Beazley said Friday. “She left without any belongings.”

Police received a tip from a woman who thought she saw a woman fitting Kanning’s description at a store in Heber Spring, Beazley said.

Bentonville detective Tom Boyle said police following up on the Heber Springs sighting. “We’re checking on that, but other than that we don’t have any more information at this time,” Boyle said.

According to Boyle, Kanning was driving a black 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee with tinted windows and Arkansas tag 504 NLP. Kanning was last seen wearing a black knit turtleneck sweater, black knit pants and no shoes.

She is 5-foot-3, weighs 123 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. She may be wearing eye glasses.

Anyone with information about Kanning’s whereabouts is asked to call the Bentonville Police Department at 479-271-3170.
