— Ferne Evelyn Smith

GRAVETTE — Ferne Evelyn Smith, 96, of Gravette died Jan. 8, 2010, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. She was born Oct. 20, 1913, to Lafayette and Mary M. Hall Schell.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ in Gravette

Survivors include two daughters, Orlene Webb and husband John, and Cleta Whitman and husband Glenn, all of Gravette; one sister; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Church of Christ in Gravette. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be at Decatur Cemetery in Decatur.

Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

Geneva Belle Saxon

ROGERS — Geneva Belle Saxon, 88, of Rogers died Jan. 3, 2010, at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City. She was born Dec. 7, 1921, in Reeves, Texas, to Clinton and Ruth Baker Bates.

She was a member of Living Water Ministries of Northwest Arkansas.

Survivors include two sons, William Saxon and wife Lynda of Kuttawa, Ky., and James Saxon and wife Joy of Boise, Idaho; a daughter, Brenda Jarvis and husband Gary of Rogers; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Rogers.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Chapel of Callison-Lough Funeral Home.

Burial will be private.

Reta June Wells

ROGERS — Reta June Wells, 89, of Rogers died Jan. 6, 2010, at Scaggs Hospital in Branson, Mo. She was born June 24, 1920, in Alpena to Dan and Adlee York Simms.

Survivors include one son, Denny Wells of Hollister, Mo.; one sister; one granddaughter; and two-great grandsons.

Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers.

Magda V. De Villarreal

BELLA VISTA — Magda V. de Villarreal, 83, of Bella Vista, Arkansas died Thursday, January 07, 2010, at her residence.  She was born October 27, 1926, in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, to Santiago Villarreal and Teresita Martinez Villarreal.

She loved God, her family and working in her flower garden. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, loving sister, and most of all a beautiful lady.

She was preceded in death by her husband Noe Villarreal, Sr., her parents and five siblings.

Magda is survived by five children, Noe Villarreal, Jr. and wife Diana of San Antonio, Texas, Magda Baker and husband Ken of Bella Vista, Isabel Vergara and husband David of Elizabeth Town, Kentucky, Alma Bigard and husband Bob of Atlanta, Georgia, Elba Campbell and husband Johnny of Waterloo, South Carolina; 13 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

A  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at  Divine Providence Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas, with Father Jean-Marie Mvumbi officiating.

Memorials may be made in honor of Magda V. de Villarreal to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Ozark Affiliation, P.O. Box 9462, Fayetteville, Arkansas 72703.

Jerry Nell Lykins

BENTONVILLE — Jerry Nell Lykins, 86 of Bentonville, died Thursday, January 7, 2010, in Rockport, Texas, while in the care of her daughter Ann Gill.

Jerry Nell was born November 22, 1923, in Albany, Texas to John Self, and Geraldine Lynch Self. She moved at an early age from Texas, with her family, to Northwest Arkansas. She attended Bentonville High School, and in 1946 married Earl E. Lykins.  Jerry Nell was a homemaker, helped on their farm and cattle operation, enjoyed cooking, and riding horses. She was an artist, and loved to paint. Jerry Nell was a member of the Eastern Star, and was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Bentonville.

Survivors include a son John Lykins and his wife Janice of Gravette; a daughter Ann Gill and her husband David of Rockport, Texas; 5 grandchildren Donna Campbell of Loxahatchee, Florida, Leslie Lamb and her husband Shane of Conway, Arkansas. John E. Lykins, and his wife Suzanna, of Gravette, Chase Johnson of Santa Rosa, Florida, Andrea Lykins, of Bentonville, and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Earl E. Lykins, a son Bobby Lykins; a brother Bill Self; 2 sisters Betty Sue Pruitt, and Mary Lou Aguero.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday January 12, 2010, at Stockdale Funeral. Chapel, with the Rev. Don Bortell officiating. Burial will be in Benton County Memorial Park.

Visitation will be 5-7:00 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2010, at Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers.

Carl D. Garrett

ROGERS — Carl D. “Rocky” Garrett, 65, of Rogers, died Friday, January 08, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers.

He was born October 24, 1944, in Rogers, to the late W. Agnes Wight Garrett and Homer Asa Garrett.

Rocky was a farmer and loved the Arkansas Razorbacks and attended many basketball games. His life revolved around his family and friends in Northwest Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John Franklin Garrett.

He is survived by two sisters, Lois Jean Brown and husband Joe of Rogers and Doris Ann Burrell and husband Loma of Carthage, MO; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and thirteen great-great-nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 10, 2010, at Rollins Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2010, at Rollins Funeral Home with the Rev. Ben Rowell officiating.  Interment will be held in Little Flock Cemetery.
