Animal Shelters Work To Keep Residents Warm

Jerry Odom and his daughter, Lily, 4, of Bella Vista started out their snow day Thursday by doing something special.

The two found themselves touring area animal shelters looking for a new family pet, Odom said.

“We have been talking about getting a pet for a while now so we figured we would look today,” Odom said. “We have got nothing better to do on account of the weather.”

Lily said her dad already had a dog picked out.

“Daddy loves Butch,” Lily said. Butch is a rat terrier housed at the Rogers Animal Shelter.

Lily, on the other hand, has plans of her own.
