Win ADDY Awards

Saatchi & Saatchi X of Springdale for the second consecutive year won the most awards and the top prize at the 30th annual Northwest Arkansas Advertising Federation ADDY Awards.

Saatchi & Saatchi X received 20 ADDY awards, 10 of them gold.

Rockfish Interactive in Rogers won four gold ADDYs.

MARS Advertising in Bentonville and Ionic Design in Fayetteville each won one gold and one silver ADDY.

Sells Agency in Fayetteville; and Elkins Design, Collective Bias and Wal-Mart, all in Bentonville, each got two silver ADDYs.

LiveLight! in Rogers got a gold ADDY. Gary Weidner Productions and Mitchell Communications Group, both in Fayetteville, each won silver ADDYS.

The American Advertising Federation, a nonprofit industry association, conducts the ADDY Awards through its 200 member advertising clubs and 15 districts.

It is the only creative awards program administered by the advertising industry for the industry.

Northwest Arkansas winners are eligible to compete at the 10th District level, which comprises Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma and western Louisiana.

Winners at the district level qualify for the American Advertising Federation’s national competition in June.

Loving Choices

Expands STD Testing

Loving Choices Pregnancy Center of Northwest Arkansas expanded its sexually transmitted disease testing program.

The center added tests for trichomoniasis and genital herpes.

Loving Choices received a $49,756 grant from the Blue & You Foundation for a Healthier Arkansas in December and is ready to start expanded testing.

The grant covers testing, lab processing and medication for up to 500 women in Benton and Washington counties. Loving Choices already tests for chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis and HIV/AIDS.

Loving Choices’ STD program has tested 101 people since it started in June.

Loving Choices services are free and confidential. These include pregnancy tests, limited obstetrical ultrasound, options counseling, postabortion counseling, parenting and childbirth classes and a mentoring program. Heartland Honda Recognized

Heartland Honda of Springdale received a 2009 Council of Excellence award.

It’s presented to Honda Powersports dealerships and finance and insurance team members who provide financial services for Honda Powersports customers.

The top 10 percent of Honda Powersports dealerships got the award in 2009.

Magazine: Tyson

A Top Employer

Tyson Foods is one of the nation’s “Top 50 Employers,” selected by the readers of Equal Opportunity magazine.

Tyson ranked 30th in thepublication’s 17th annual survey.

Readers selected companies for which they would most prefer to work or believe are progressive in hiring minorities.

Palm Noodle Bar Top 100 Restaurant

Palm Noodle Bar was inducted into the Chinese Restaurant News’ Top 100 Chinese Restaurants in the USA for 2009.

The Lowell restaurant was named to the list during the sixth annual awards ceremony in January in Las Vegas.

Palm Noodle Bar washonored in the healthy menu awards category. It serves Southeast Asian and Chinese cuisines.

The Chinese Restaurant News is a Chinese food industry national trade publication.

Local Angus Farm Recognized

The American Angus Association recognized Jacs Ranch in Bentonville for having four registered Angus cows included in the 2010 Pathfinder Report.

Only 2,220 of the nearly 30,000 American Angus Association members are represented in this year’s report, said Bill Bowman, association spokesman.
