Petrus injures hamstring at NFL Combine

Posted: February 27, 2010 at 2:19 p.m.

Arkansas offensive guard Mitch Petrus made headlines at the NFL Scouting Combine for the second consecutive day, but this time the news was not good.

Petrus pulled up with a hamstring injury during his first attempt at the 40-yard dash Saturday, reported Frank Tadych of NFL.com.

Petrus had an ice bag wrapped around his left leg and it wasn’t clear if he would participate in any other drills.

“It’s tough to see any player pull up with an injury during the combine, but especially a projected mid-round pick such as Petrus, who’s trying to grab scouts’ attention this weekend,” Tadych wrote on a blog.

Petrus tied the NFL Scouting Combine record on Friday when he lifted 225 pounds 45 times.
