STAFF PHOTOS FLIP PUTTHOFF Cold water didn’t prevent Robbie Towner of Anderson, Mo., from catching largemouth bass at Lake Ann on a wintry day. Towner wrangled 25 largemouths from the Bella Vista lake on jerk baits.

Hoisting a big largemouth bass out of icy water can make a fishermen forget that it’s 30 degrees, the wind’s blowing and it’s snowing.
