PROGRAM FOCUSES ON PREVENTION, DETECTION, CHRONIC CONDITION MANAGEMENT

Hospitals are usually known for illness. Washington Regional Medical Center wants to be known for wellness.

The Fayetteville hospital is partnering with U.S. Preventive Medicine, a company that focuses on three areas: prevention, detection and chronic condition management.

Steve Percival, the hospital’s vice president of human resources, said Washington Regional has been pushing wellness and prevention for a long time, and with this program he believes they found the perfect fi t.

“We thought it was a neat thing as a hospital to offer to our employees,” he said. “It’s hard to preach health care if you don’t practice it.”
