Three priests stand before the altar, reciting the opening sentences of an evening prayer service. Their vestments bear the insignia of their faith: the three crosses of the trinity, the budded cross, the chalice, wheat stalk and dove.

The men represent three different traditions - Roman Catholic, Antiochian Orthodox and Anglican. Each has developed its own particular ethos and style, but they share common roots, structure and ritual.

On Feb. 5, the three cousins came together for a common cause. Members of three area churches coordinated the Have a Heart for Haiti fundraiser at St. Gabriel’s Anglican Church in Springdale.
