Ageless echoes

Fayetteville group’s Gregorian chant resonates with ancient Roman Catholic tradition.

The sound is ancient, conjuring up images of hooded monks, their voices echoing through the halls of medieval abbeys.

Members of the Gregorian Schola at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fayetteville sing the chant Meditabor in Latin. In English the lyrics are: I will meditate on Thy commandments, which I have loved exceedingly: and I will lift up my hands to Thy commandments, which I have loved. The group sings weekly during the Saturday evening Mass.
