Is Springdale a basketball town?
OK, go ahead and laugh at this guy who grew up in Nebraska and barely knew Springdale from Springfield before moving to the area.
But after what I saw Saturday night, I felt the question is worth asking. Basketball obviously will never overtake football as this town’s main love, as I’ve learned.
The passion for hoops, however, seemed intense at my first-ever Springdale Har-Ber vs. Springdale High basketball game, legitimizing my curiosity.
Cars packed the parking lot outside Bulldog Gymnasium. By game time of the girls varsity game, the only spot co-worker Kurt Voigt could find resided far to the east, down near Thompson Street.
