The State of our Economy is ever faltering. 2010 is not off to a good start. During the month of January, the stock markets were down almost 5 percent. More importantly, the state of Fayetteville’s economy is measurably worse over the years. This is indicated by a continued shortfall in tax receipts.

Not only no cigar, but not even close. The worn-out tropes of the unpatriotic, America-hating teabaggers do not apply here. This is government doing exactly what it needs to do.

Mr. Laubler, a very well written letter but it will not be possible to " get thru " to every one.
Only about 10 months to go before we have a chance to throw a lotof CROOKS out of office. It is my hope that we will not re-elect any member of the current congress , be they democract or republican and that includes Blance Linclon and John Boozeman

nothtatsmart and ALPHACAT: I've been staying very active with the school district on this issue. My record with a school system my children attended (many years ago) was to find the $1.5M that the schools overlooked from the federal gov't (for us soldiers and fed. gov't employees).
I would run but I'm not sure my health would stand it. We are, however, finding candidates to run and change the weight of the board. There are TWO seats open in September. If you live along a line south or west of Fayetteville, you are probably in that district. Get ahold of me if you are interested.
Who am I? One more citizen with grandchildren in the schools, somebody who can afford the millage increase, but feels fiscal responsibility is also warranted.
NOW the schools are going against the vote. No matter what side, can anybody seriously say they want our elected officials circumventing the popular vote of the people? As I recall, this is a precursor to something other than democracy.
Join us. We always need to be challanged with other sides.
