Not everyone knows that the Nadine Baum Studio next door to the Walton Arts Center houses an art gallery.

This gallery and others will be highlighted on an upcoming map to identify galleries and public art installations around Fayetteville.

"The purpose of the art map is to enhance economic growth for galleries and artists," said Sonia Davis Gutierrez, co-founder of the New Design Center in Fayetteville. "We believe the publicity and promotion of creative people and businesses through visibility is a good place to start."

The project germinated in the Fayetteville Forward Creative Economy group, a collection of a dozen or so residents who are working to grow the economy and jobs in the creative sector. The map is a ...

Beautiful. Thanks Skip! You have inspired me to purchase a year subscription to the online version of the paper and have renewed my faith in seeing the arts covered. I hope this will be the beginning of a new era for arts in the news. By the way, "arts and culture" was not an option as an interest when I signed up for the paper. I think adding this option could increase your readership.
