Kenyon Petty

ROGERS — Kenyon “Ken” Petty, 75 of Rogers, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010.

He was born May 31, 1934, in Chicago to Louis Petty and Erna Eckert Petty.

Ken was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served aboard the Heavy Cruiser USS Des Moines CA-134 as a Signalman Third Class. A longtime native of Chicago, Ken worked for many years in technical sales for a small company that supplied components to John Deere, and Caterpillar before retiring to Amelia Island, Fla., and later moving to Northwest Arkansas. Ken’s hobbies included all manner of sports and he was always interested in a fun loving wager and light hearted competition. Later in life he enjoyed working part time at Arlington Park Race Track, in Arlington Heights, Ill., and the annual Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs. He also helped out at the Twin Links Batting Cages in Mount Prospect, Ill. Ken was active in the Lutheran Church, having assumed many roles from teaching youth and adult Sunday school classes to serving on the church council.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Barbara Petty of the home; three daughters, Susan Grimes and her husband Todd of Rogers, Lisa Olsen and her husband Perry of Rogers, Kendall Sharp and her husband Patton, of Austin, Texas; a sister Bette Lou Kallas, and her husband Woody of Amelia Island, Fla.; eight grandchildren Paige Olsen, Peyton Olsen, Taylor Grimes, Christian Olsen, Brett Olsen, Cameron Grimes, Bailey Grimes and Emma Sharp.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, at Christ The King Lutheran Church, in Bentonville, with Pastor Stacy M. Hill officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date.

Steven E. Lee

BELLA VISTA — Steven Eugene Lee, age 41, of Bella Vista, died Feb. 4, 2010, in Bella Vista. He was born Feb. 8, 1968, in Springdale, Ark., the son of Larry Wayne and Doris Cloer Lee. He was in the construction business and attended Revival Tabernacle in Springdale. He enjoyed electronics and computer games. He was preceded by one brother: David Stacy Mobbs.

He is survived by his parents, David C. and Doris Mobbs of Lowell; two sons: Trevor Nathaniel Lee and Spencer James Lee of Springdale; one sister: Claudia Mobbs of Lowell; one stepbrother, Boyd Mobbs of Marshville, Missouri; one stepsister, Angela Mobbs of Dalhart, Texas; and his grandmother, Josephine Mobbs of Dalhart, Texas.

Graveside service will be Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at Wilson Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.memfuneral.com

Bessie Lucilla Andrews

COLCORD, Okla. — Bessie Lucilla Andrews, 85, of Colcord died Feb. 5, 2010, in Bentonville. She was born March 5, 1924, in Avoca to the Henry and Lizzie Grimes.

Survivors include eight sons, Max Andrews, and Larry Andrews and wife Vonda, all of Grove, Joe Andrews and wife Diane of Rogers, Wayne Andrews of East Siloam Springs, Carl Andrews and Harold Andrews, both of Colcord, Rick Andrews of Watts, Okla., and Edward Andrews and wife Cheri of Siloam Springs; five daughters, Pearl Powers of Pea Ridge, Betty McMahan of Colcord, Judy Adams of West Siloam Springs, Okla., Anita Stacy and husband Alan of Gentry, and Lena Pool of Jay, Okla.; 47 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rollins Funeral Home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Tuck’s Chapel Cemetery.

Mary L. Alberti

SPRINGDALE — Mary L. Alberti, 70, died Jan. 30, 2010, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. She was born Jan. 14, 1940, in Oakland, Calif., to Manuel and Mercedes Thelmont Alberti.

She had seven siblings and was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Rogers, the United Methodist Women, and had been a Stephen Minister.

Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, at First United Methodist Church, 307 W. Elm St., Rogers.

Memorials to the church or to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, Ark.

Colleen Phillips

ROGERS — Colleen Phillips, age 63, of Rogers, peacefully departed this life on Feb. 3, 2010. She was born in Clarksville on Dec. 3, 1946, to the late Floyd “Blackie” and Orpha (Naylor) Steele.

Survivors include her sons, Travis Phillips and wife Melissa of Avoca, Todd Phillips and wife Carla of Rogers, and their father, Floyd Phillips of Rogers; sisters, Evelyn Creech of Tulsa, Okla., Iris Danley of Texarkana, Brenda Klutts of Bentonville, Vicki Rancier of Weedsport, New York; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2010, in the Chapel of Callison-Lough Funeral Home, Rogers.

Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale.
