Wal-Mart Stores Inc.’s recently announced corporate restructuring is expected to shift some merchandising decisions - and the people who make those decisions - away from the Bentonville headquarters to regional offices.
Part of the restructuring is aimed at doing a better job of matching merchandise to local preferences throughout the retailer’s vast chain of stores.
As a result, some headquarters staff members will face a choice of relocating, looking for other jobs or retirement, according to several people familiar with the situation.
