Parking Deck Project Remains Stalled

Engineers increase estimate of cost by $2.5 million

Construction of the parking deck at the Washington County Courthouse remains on hold while engineers prepare estimates for scaling back the project.

Justices of the peace said during a special meeting Thursday they were unprepared to decide on whether to allocate $2 million or more to complete the project, revise the scope of the project or pursue other options.

Officials said they could bring the matter up again at the next regular Quorum Court meeting or at a special meeting — depending on when estimates are ready.
