Cost put on new labeling for meat

Rule offers look at fact-panel tab

Requiring meat and poultry retailers and processors to put nutrition “fact” labels on the most popular cuts will cost the industry between $10.5 million and $10.9 million a year for the next 20 years, according to the cost estimates included in the final rule published Wednesday in the Federal Register.
