AREA RESIDENTS BOARD BUSES, LOAD CARS FOR CHRISTMAS DESTINATIONS

SEASONAL SURPRISE - Sierra Weaver of Mobile, Ala., left, is greeted Thursday by her father’s girlfriend, Sandy Roberts of Cave Springs, as her sisters, Taryn Hurd, 6, and Reina Hurd, 9, and aunt, Irene Gonzalez of Elm Springs smile at the Fayetteville Jefferson Bus Depot. Weaver is visiting her family as a surprise to her father, who serves in the military and is also coming into the area for the holidays before he travels to serve in Afghanistan next month.
Area residents boarded buses and loaded cars Thursday for road trips to get them to their Christmas destinations.
