Board OKs standards to track student scores
Their aim: Show the schools where kids learn

Charity Smith, with the state Department of Education, speaking Monday to the state Board of Education on the approval of the high school ratings system to comply with Act 35 of 2003. The board later approved the system.
The Arkansas Board of Education on Monday approved standards that will help track growth in students’ test scores at the state’s high schools.
