FORT SMITH Police in Fort Smith say a baptism party where some uninvited guests arrived turned into a brawl that resulted in gunfire.
The party was at the Progressive Men's Club, where police were dispatched at 2 a.m. Saturday after a caller reported gunfire.
Witness Amy Manjarrez told Fort Smith television station KHBS that her uncle was pistol whipped and that others, including her father and a disk jockey, were beaten.
Police say one person fired a gun in the air and then into the crowd, though no one was wounded.
Investigators say six juveniles were arrested. Their names weren't released because of their ages. One youth was charged with aggravated assault. Other charges include curfew violations, marijuana possession and carrying a weapon.
