FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas power forward Marshawn Powell hurt his foot in Virginia over the weekend, but Arkansas officials could not confirm the extent of the injury Monday morning.
The sophomore posted late Sunday night on his Facebook page that he "broke" a foot.
The Newport News, Va., native is scheduled to return to Fayetteville later today and will be evaluated by doctors Tuesday, according to an Arkansas spokesperson. Arkansas is expected to issue a statement on Powell's condition after his evaluation.
Powell is Arkansas' leader in the frontcourt and averaged 14.9 points and a team-leading 6.7 rebounds a game last season, his first at Arkansas. He was the only Razorback to play and start in all 32 games.
