Judicial Candidates Aggressive At Forums

RACES HEAT UP AS CONTENDERS THROW VERBAL JABS

Candidates for two judgeships in Washington and Madison counties are getting more aggressive, as judicial races go, with candidates trying to distinguish themselves from the field just three weeks before the election.

The race for Circuit Judge, Division 7, a new position, heated up as Charles Duell took a couple of jabs at Steve Zega during the taping of a Washington County League of Women Voters forum Monday. Gary Carson then tossed a zinger at Duell, Zega and the third person in the race, Joanna Taylor.

Carson, 63, touted his experience as an appointed Circuit Judge, serving out the term of retired Circuit Judge Mike Mashburn after Mashburn had a stroke.
