You'll sing a different tune when that war over there lands on AMERICAN soil and without us being there it would of already happened. My grandpa was in the civil war, my uncle in Korea, my brother in Vietnam and my son in law is just coming back from Afganistan. So my opinion isn't because I want war, I'm not republican or democrat, Yes I do Have questions, I get to ask them because I'm FREE.
Without our service men and women we wouldn't HAVE that freedom. Think about that the next time you pick up your kids at school and drive home safely without fear of roadside bombs, or when you go to the church of your choice.
Freedom isn't free and when people stop protecting that freedom, we're all going to live different and more tragic lives. God Help us

WhoMe58-- Did you miss the fact that Jacob George is a three-tour veteran of the Afghanistan war and Jordan George is a National Guardsman about to be deployed to Afghanistan? Their dues are paid; they made you FREE. God help us indeed if those who protect us are not allowed to express opinions.

alpha_cat--NO I can read, I never even hinted that they didn't have a right to their opinion. My point was that if all the people protesting the war get their wish and that war ends over there,it could very well wind up being fought on AMERICAN SOIL, most of the current generations have never had a war going on our American soil. I worry that if we pull from Operation Freedom and leave them to shoot at each other, which I don't have a problem with as long as they stay over there to shoot at each other, but they hate American people for what ever reason they believe.
so when all of our troops are pulled from over there, be prepared for another 9-11 or oklahoma city bombing.
I haven't forgotten that Japan bombed pearl harbor, nor that Vietnam was never declared a war, only a police action, but I was there at the airport when the service men and women got off the plane in Fayetteville/Greenland Arkansas at Drake field and the protesters where lined up on the tarmac and spitting on my brother and calling those boys "baby killers" as they got off the plane. I WAS THERE. I SAW IT. so don't tell me that I don't know anything about what happened when our people came home.
I don't like our service men and women being there anymore than anyone else does,But I feel it is a necessary stand.
I also didn't MISS that in the article it was stated that "His grandfather, former State Rep. Lloyd George, D-Danville, served almost 30 years in the Legislature before resigning in 1997 after he pleaded guilty to federal mail fraud charges." which indicates to me that these boys may have a less than good role model of why this country is free, of WHY they were in Afgansistan. No where in my post did I ever even hint that they didn't have the right to their opinion. I just don't happen to agree with them OR YOU! I don't think they deserve the publicity they are receiving and I don't think I'll be supporting them on their protest.

WhoMe, Well Oklahoma City bombing was done by a American. 9-11 was a act of terror that could happen
any time evan with our troops in Afghanistan & Iraq.
So the lets fight em there not here logic is old scare tactics from the last administration. I'm sorry your brother had that happen to him. We need to STOP the war bring the troops home and protect our borders. If you think about any one coming to fight on our soil. I pity the fools. Not only do they have to worry about our troops they have to worry about US the people. I say PEACE NOW STOP THE WAR.

You people just want to argue, you've done no research, (YES I have) you think you'll be able to fight on your own? Where you gonna get the guns bubba? Where are you going to get the ammo? Have you purchased any ammo lately, how about guns have you bought any guns? Well I have and it's TRIPLED in price not to mention the number of ammunition plants that have been shut down and the work shipped overseas because it’s cheaper to make it there. People are buying guns and ammo for protection, but if as YOU say it’s all a scare tactic, why do they need it? I’ll tell you why, because it’s not an old scare tactic. No one thought that Japan would bomb Pearl Harbor either but it happened. Who would of believed that terrorists would take over four of our own airliners and cause the havoc and destruction and death and suffering. but it happened.
SO Humble; You just keep right on believing your peace now stop the war chant is going to fix anything; So if they pull all the troops out of there and the war breaks out here on American soil I promise you that I won’t try to protect you since you think you can reason with terrorists.
I pray to GOD I'm wrong. I will stand on top of Bud Walton Arena and tell anyone who's listening that I was wrong. I’ll be delighted to be wrong. I PRAY to God, that I am wrong. But in the meantime. I'm supporting our military personnel who are over there.

Don't conflate the troops with government policy-- they're not the same thing. It is quite possible to support our troops AND call for the end of the war. That's in part why it is possible for the troops themselves to call for an end to the war, and why I support them and support the call.

It would be kinda silly to tell a person who has seen war that they can not oppose war. Even if they are in the military. In fact, who the heck are we to have an opinion one way or another if we have not done what they have? I think they have shown they can protest war and still fight. One thing is that people better realize thay if you want something there are times you HAVE to fight. Best wishes to these men and thank you for your service to me and our country!
