Potential parking problems apparently have been avoided after the City Council approved street and sidewalk improvement adjacent to the Ernest Lawrence Plaza.
The improvement, which will cost $50,893 and will be paid for from the city’s Community Development Block Grant fund, should open up more space for vehicles once the Lawrence Plaza opens in November.
“It’s respecting our neighbors is what this really boils down to,” said David Wright, parks and recreation manager. “We would have had a chance that there would have been people parking in the grass of our neighbors, the areas that they maintain.
