Arkansas Tech board OKs $1,000 bonuses for faculty, staff

Posted: April 16, 2010 at 12:47 p.m.

The Arkansas Tech board has voted to give a $1,000 bonus to members of the school’s faculty and staff.

A news release from the school said the one-time bonuses will go out as part of the April payroll.

ATU President Robert C. Brown said this academic year had been a good one at Tech, for a couple of reasons: increasing enrollment and cooperation of faculty and staff in efforts to hold spending down.

“While this bonus does not take the place of the raises we were not able to fund last summer, it is a token of our appreciation for their hard work to provide our students with the excellent education they deserve,” Brown said.
