Parents of 5 killed in fire arrested

— The parents of five girls killed in a house fire in March 2008 have been arrested on allegations of violating probation.

Jamie Frazier, 34, and Karry Mahmens, 28, were placed on a year of state supervised probation in November. Each pleaded guilty to misdemeanor possession of a controlled or counterfeit substance and possession of drug paraphernalia related to evidence police found at the burned home.

The couple's daughters - Kristan Frazier, 13; Kimberly Frazier, 11; Katelyn Mahmens, 9; Kaila Frazier, 8; and Kiya Frazier, 5 - were pronounced dead at the scene of the March 25, 2008, fire at 402S.W. B St.

After the f ire, police searched the home, where they found several items of drug paraphernalia, as well as a small amount of what police suspected was marijuana. The couple tested positive for marijuana use several hours after the fire.

The misdemeanor plea required Frazier and Mahmens to be sentenced to state-supervised probation and to be screened at Ozark Guidance for substance abuse treatment.

Neither Frazier's or Mahmen's court file contained any information related to the probation revocation. Frazier and Mahmens were released from the Benton County jail after each posted $1,000 bond.
