Rally-goer accused of headbutting deputy

— A Bikes, Blues & BBQ patron faces elevated charges on allegations of headbutting a Washington County sheriff's deputy and spitting at two Fayetteville police officers while being transported to the Washington County Detention Center on Saturday.

Efrain Alaniz, 22, of 1715 S. G St. in Rogers,was arrested on criminal charges involving two counts of second-degree battery and one count each of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, public intoxication and parole violation.

Also arrested was Alaniz's girlfriend, Elena Perez, 24, on misdemeanor charges of obstructing governmental operations, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

While providing security during Fayetteville's Bikes, Blues & BBQ festival, officers reported they witnessedAlaniz walking through the crowd, bumping into people and shouting obscenities. Police noted he smelled strongly of alcohol. After being handcuffed by officers, Alaniz allegedly became combative.

While being transported to the Washington County Detention Center, Alaniz allegedly headbutted a deputy. After being restrained, he allegedly spit at two Fayetteville police officers. He was booked into the Washington County Detention Center, where he was being on a $1,427.50 bond Monday.
