Radler's 73 helps extend Lady Bulldogs' golf dynasty

— Fayetteville High junior Micah Radler shot a 73 Monday to take co-medalist honors in the 7A State Golf championship and lead the Lady Bulldogs to their fifth-consecutive state title at the Fianna Hills Country Club.

"I'm so proud of the team and Micah, in particular," Fayetteville golf coach Kyle Adams said. "A fifth title is something and Micah winning co-medalist honors makes it that much better."

Conway's Summar Roachell also shot a 73, but her Lady Wampus Cats combined for a 247, while Fayetteville pulled off a 6-stroke victory with a team total of 241.

Fayetteville sophomore Olivia Lavy had led the Lady Bulldogs efforts all season, but shot an 84 Tuesday under the windy conditions.

"Liv didn't play well," Adams said. "I think she was over by more strokestoday than she had beenin all the regular-season matches combined. But, it's kind of been our tradition for one girl to pick it up if another is struggling.

"Micah really stepped up. Shelby Daniel also shot well with an 84. Alex DelSol had a solid round, too."

Adams said Lavy kept grinding despite her tough day to make sure the Lady Bulldogs won their fifth title.

"The girls always talk among themselves in practice about not being the team that loses the streak," Adams said. "It's a source of pride. And, we have everyone back next year so maybe we can keep the streak going."
