Fayetteville wins fifth golf title

— Fayetteville High junior Micah Radler shot a 73 Monday to lead the Lady Bulldogs to their fifth consecutive state title at Fianna Hills Country Club.

Conway's Summar Roachell also shot a 73 and beat Radler on the first hole of a playoff - shooting par on No. 18 - totake medalist honors.

But her Lady Wampus Cats (247) finished six strokes behind Fayetteville (241).

"I'm so proud of the team and Micah, in particular" Fayetteville golf coach Kyle Adams said.

Fayetteville sophomore Olivia Lavy had led the Lady Bulldogs efforts all season, but shot an 84 Tuesday under the windy conditions.

"The girls always talk among themselves in practice about not being the team that loses the streak," Adams said. "It's a source of pride. And, we have everyone back next year so maybe we can keep the streak going."

Rogers' Kelly Lees had the top finish out of the Benton County golfers, shooting a 107.

There were seven golfers from Benton County competing as individuals.
